The stakeholders at Vesi Apartments wanted the art to help pay homage to the area’s history while layering in contemporary, approachable elements inspired by the notable San Francisco Proper Hotel. The building is located in the backyard of the North Loop along West River Parkway where the Mississippi River meets the essence of the city. It is a location with a unique 140-year history in Minneapolis from its days as a booming distribution and manufacturing center of Milky Way candy bars, Model Ts, and John Deere plows.
met/gal’s approach delivered a result embracing eccentric art. Each curated work displays unique character while harmonizing effortlessly with the designed environment. Our team curated a range of mediums, styles, and price points, including an original commissioned artwork by rising artist Santiago Escobedo and archival blueprints for the residence corridors. The project communicated the aesthetic of the brand while maximizing the client’s investment and history of this new multi-family property.
